Zeitungsgruppe Thüringen, based in the Thüringen state capital Erfurt, is the central service provider for the daily newspapers Thüringer Allgemeine (Erfurt), Ostthüringer Zeitung (Gera) and Thüringische Landeszeitung (Weimar).

 

True to the WAZ-Modell, the newspaper group performs all economic publishing services that do not touch the editorial content of the newspapers - personnel, marketing, printing, logistics and advertisement sales. The most widespread issue of the three newspapers totals 384.857 copies (IVW 3 / 2005). 2.000 full time employees and 4.500 deliverers work under the newspaper group umbrella.

 

Since the fall of the Berlin wall, the WAZ Media Group has invested around Euro 225 million in establishing editorial offices, modern publication houses and printing equipment.

 

Good for the job market: Zeitungsgruppe Thüringen is the largest trainer of publishing traders in the newly formed German states.
