Thüringische Landeszeitung has its publishing house based in Weimar and is the oldest local Thüringen newspaper. It appears not only along the "pearl chain of culture", i.e. from Gera, over Jena, Weimar and Erfurt to Gotha and Eisenach, but also in Bad Langensalza, Mühlhausen and Eichsfeld.
