Thüringer Allgemeine (TA)

Thüringer Allgemeine, based in the state capital Erfurt, is the biggest of the Thüringen newspapers. Yet it has gone by this name only since 1990, when publisher and editorial office made a point of renaming it from the old name "Das Volk".

Progress and innovation are closely associated with TA. It was, for example, the first newspaper in the east to subscribe to "western" agencies dpa and Reuters after the wall fell in Berlin.

The orientation of the content towards critical and factually fair journalism, combined with a high utility to the readers, became possible in 1990 with the cooperation with the WAZ Media Group. Investments in modern editorial and printing technology built a sturdy leg to stand on in the market.
