Since 1977, the WAZ Media Group has been issuing advertising papers under the name of the Westdeutsche Verlags- und Werbegesellschaft (WVW). Today, 61 WVW titles appear once or twice weekly in the Rhine/Ruhr region in central and southern Westphalia.

 

Together with the Dortmund publisher Lensing-Wolff, 15 other advertising papers are issued in the central and northern Ruhr region. The WAZ Group and the publisher Lensing-Wolff each hold 50 percent shares in Ostruhr-Anzeigenblattgesellschaft (ORA), established in 1978.

 

The WVW / ORA area of circulation stretches from the Kleve district in the north west, over the Hochsauerland district in the south east down to the Olpe district in the south. The total of 76 local advertising papers cover nearly every household in the area of circulation, at 5 million distributed copies per week.
